Job summary

Entergy Corporation in Texas is seeking an engineer to perform load flow and circuit coordination analyses, develop settings for field equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards. You will review distributed energy resource documents and perform engineering calculations to support planning and corrective actions.

Responsibilities include root cause analysis, planned switching orders, power quality troubleshooting, and providing guidance to engineering associates and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial engineering.
• PE may be considered with four-year degree.
• Engineer I: 0–2 years; II: 2+ years; III: 4+ years; Sr Engineer: 6+ years.
• Strong math, project management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of NEC and safety policies.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform load flow and circuit coordination analyses using SynerGEE.
• Identify and correct un-balanced loads on distribution circuits.
• Develop settings for field equipment (reclosers, fuses, capacitors, regulators).
• Review DER documents to ensure compliance with Entergy standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis on failures with unknown causes.
• Develop planned switching orders and troubleshoot power quality issues.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and field teams.
• Create and review electrical designs meeting customer needs and standards.
• Participate in meetings with customers, architects, developers, contractors, and government entities to communicate standards.
• Perform engineering calculations for planning and corrective projects.
• Assist with storm restoration both locally and out of town.
