Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is hiring for an experienced Distribution Designer III in Asheville, NC.

The role focuses on designing electrical distribution systems, performing field data collection, and guiding projects from concept through completion in a primarily office environment with significant field exposure. Successful candidates will have a four-year ABET-accredited engineering degree, at least two years of distribution design experience, and preferably a PE license.

Qualifications

• Four-year ABET-accredited Engineering degree with distribution design experience.
• Minimum two years of distribution design experience; FE counts as six months.
• Active PE license is preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Produce computer-aided electrical distribution design drawings and BOMs for complex projects.
• Conduct field data collection using standard tools and inspections.
• Apply design calculations such as cable loading and transformer loading.
• Coordinate with clients and construction crews in site meetings.
• Prepare permitting and project documentation as needed.
• Maintain safety and compliance on office and field sites.
• Potential to contribute to storm-restoration efforts as Assessor or Team Lead.
