Job summary

WSP is seeking a Distribution Engineer – Senior Professional for our Spring/The Woodlands, TX office. You will craft detailed designs for medium voltage electrical distribution, from overhead to underground, and prepare construction-ready drawings while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

You will lead junior engineers, perform cost estimates, and develop plans and safety documentation to support projects from design through construction, all while staying current with industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 5 to 7 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design for large capital projects.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Experience with operations and project controls for reporting and proposals.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design, permitting and project work.
• Project management experience on small to mid-size projects.
• Ability to conduct inspections and investigations with regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for medium voltage distribution systems from 120/240V to 24.9kV.
• Produce construction-ready drawings using CAD tools.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams; support project execution from design through construction.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates; update electrical layout plans.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineers; prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Assist in data analysis, field investigations, and risk mitigation planning.
