Job summary

Datadog is hiring a Distributed Systems Engineer for the Continuous Profiler team. You will design, build, and operate core profiling services, enabling low-overhead production profiling across large-scale workloads.

You’ll collaborate with runtime engineers, data scientists, and designers to deliver impactful experiences for customers. You will own code end-to-end, engage with stakeholders, and help shape architecture in a hybrid Datadog environment, contributing to a range of integrations and

Qualifications

• Experience with Java and/or Go essential.
• Distributed systems engineer with experience building high performance large scale systems.
• Excellent communication skills (English).
• Ability to meaningfully review architectural proposals and guide technical trade-offs in a complex product space.
• Experience working with AI coding agents to produce performant and maintainable results.
• Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
• Nice to have: working knowledge of sampling strategies, Bayesian optimization, sensor fusion.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and contribute to core profiling services at scale.
• Iterate with customers and multi-disciplinary squads from exploration to product experiences.
• Own code from development to production, meeting SLOs and quality gates.
• Work with UI, agent tools, internal apps, integrations and partner products to consume profiling data.
