Blue Yonder Defense Solutions (BYDS) seeks a Distributed Systems / Integration Architect to lead the design of an enterprise-scale platform. You will define architectural patterns for distributed computing, event-driven systems, and enterprise integration to ensure scalability, resilience, and interoperability with internal and external systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering focusing on distributed systems architecture.
• Proven experience designing large-scale, distributed, and event-driven systems.
• Strong technical understanding of Java-based microservices architecture and API gateways.
• Strong experience designing event driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Deep understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns and Data Flows.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and API design.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of data architecture in distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural patterns for distributed computing, event-driven systems, and enterprise integration.
• Lead architecture for high-scale, mission-critical applications.
• Design systems that handle high throughput, fault tolerance, and eventual consistency.
• Architect solutions based on Enterprise Integration Patterns and messaging platforms like Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Define API design standards and governance; guide service-to-service communication.
• Design cloud-native architectures with Docker and Kubernetes; IaC with Ansible and Terraform.
• Define data strategies including Event Sourcing and CQRS.
• Establish observability using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger.
• Define secure communication patterns (mTLS, zero-trust) and compliance (FedRAMP, DoD, SOC2).
• Mentor senior engineers and participate in design reviews and decisions.
