Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Display Engineer, Optics & Cover Glass, to drive NTI for display optics and bonding. You will evaluate optical films, coatings, and bonding solutions, establish validation methods, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to mature technologies for future GM displays.

You will work on optical characterization, benchmarking, and design decisions to ensure durability and performance across instrument clusters and center displays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Display Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in display optics, optical films, cover glass, coatings, or optical bonding.
• Understanding of LCD/OLED optics and light-management technologies.
• Experience with optical characterization equipment and simulations.

Responsibilities

• Scout and evaluate emerging optical film, cover glass, coatings, and optical bonding technologies.
• Define requirements, performance metrics, and feasibility for next-gen display optics.
• Lead proof-of-concept evaluations with suppliers.
• Develop optical measurement methodologies and benchmarking processes.
• Conduct optical simulations and data analysis for brightness, contrast, viewing angle.
