Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Display Products group, maturing avionics displays from R&D to product design and development. You’ll mentor Mechanical and Optical Engineers, guide product roadmaps, and drive customer-focused technical leadership.

The role demands a strong leader with collaboration, a strategic mindset, and the ability to balance performance with affordability while delivering on commitments.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Successful leadership experience in developing certified flight deck displays is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal, team building and leadership skills.
• Technical project management experience is highly desirable.
• Proven record of meeting objectives and commitments.
• Possess a collaborative way of working and critical, innovative thinking.
• Demonstrated success in balancing system performance and affordability.
• Strong communicator, able to interface with the spectrum of individual contributor to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with AMLCDs used for avionics and emerging Display Technologies.
• Technical leadership for a group of engineers to ensure program commitments are met.
• Ensures consistency with Collins Consistent Engineering Processes.
• Ensures compliance with Program / Product requirements as reflected in design plans.
• Participates in budgeting for staffing, facilities, capital, and support needs.
• Responsible for management and performance of engineering personnel to meet deliverables.
• Leads wide range of entry-level to highly experienced Engineers and Technologists.
• Demonstrates technical expertise in Displays and related technologies.
• Supports roadmaps and participates in industry committees; champions roadmaps with internal stakeholders.
• Supports Strategic & Financial Planning and Annual Operating Plans with Product Managers; budget planning and allocation.
• Maintains awareness of technology and Company's competitive position.
