Job summary

ADARx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Scientist I in Discovery Chemistry to lead multi-step synthesis, purification, and analytical characterization, driving SAR development within a fast-paced, collaborative team.

You will design synthetic routes, work across disciplines, and mentor junior staff while maintaining rigorous safety and documentation practices. Requirements include a PhD in Chemistry or related field with 2–5 years of industry experience, strong analytical

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or related field; 2 years postdoc or 2–5 years industry experience.
• Experience designing synthetic routes and multi-step syntheses independently.
• Familiar with chromatography, automated flash chromatography, NMR, HPLC, LCMS.
• Track record of scientific achievement via peer-reviewed publications.
• Strong lab skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute multi-step synthesis with purification and characterization.
• Collaborate across disciplines and participate in project team meetings.
• Prepare reports and communicate progress to the team.
• Write protocols and SOPs for new discovery efforts.
• Train and mentor entry-level staff.
• Maintain equipment, reagents and laboratory environment; troubleshoot issues.
