Job summary

State of Missouri in Liberty is seeking an APS Specialist II to investigate abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly and disabled. You will conduct home visits, interview victims and caregivers, and coordinate protective services.

This role requires strong communication, independence, resilience, and initiative. On-call rotation and local travel are part of the position, with a comprehensive benefits package including pension, leave, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; related experience may substitute.
• Experience in Adult Protective Services or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and interviewing abilities.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
• Conduct home visits to observe surroundings, and interview victims and caregivers.
• Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
• Be available to be in an on call rotation with other members of your team.
• Travel within local multi-county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings and training sessions, utilizing your personal vehicle when necessary. Minimal overnight travel required.
