Job summary

The State of Missouri seeks an APS Specialist II to protect seniors and adults with disabilities across a multi‑county region. You will conduct home visits, interview victims and caregivers, and coordinate protective services to ensure safety.

This role requires travel within local counties, on‑call rotation, and strong communication and independent work habits. A Bachelor's degree or related experience is acceptable; background in APS is a plus. Eric Johnson, Regional Manager, health.mo.gov.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interviewing skills.

• Experience with adult protective services or related human services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (60+) and disabled (18+).
• Conduct home visits to observe surroundings and interview victims and caregivers.
• Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
• Be available to be in an on-call rotation with other team members.
• Travel within local multi-county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings and training sessions; minimal overnight travel.
