Job summary

Disability Rights California is seeking a Senior Attorney to lead and mentor a team focused on ending discrimination against people with disabilities and expanding access to housing and public programs. The role includes leading impact litigation, client advocacy, and training initiatives.

The Senior Attorney will work under the Managing Attorney and collaborate with staff across legal, advocacy, and outreach efforts to advance disability rights and ensure compliance with federal and state grant

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and/or participate in litigation—including class actions, complex litigation, and appeals.
• Represent individual clients in negotiations, mediations, administrative and judicial proceedings.
• Supervise and mentor attorneys, advocates, fellows, clerks, and interns/externs as assigned.
• Prepare and coordinate training materials, publications, reports, or special projects; give presentations as needed.
• Provide technical assistance and substantive training to DR California staff; assist in staff development.
• Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to address problems in service provision.
