Job summary

The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Service Specialist to protect vulnerable adults and individuals with disabilities from abuse and neglect. You will conduct intakes, investigations, risk assessments, and develop intervening plans to ensure safety and access to needed services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the human, social, behavioral or criminal sciences.
• Associate's degree in the human, social, behavioral or criminal sciences and four years relevant experience.
• Three years professional level experience may substitute for a degree; 18 months for an Associate.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screening interviews by phone or in person with victims and witnesses.
• Investigate abuse, neglect or self-neglect; review records and evidence.
• Conduct home visits to assess living conditions and safety risks.
• Develop and manage intervention plans and coordinate referrals.
