Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Facilities Manager 3 to oversee the operational activities of the vivarium and related facilities within the Department of Animal Care and Technologies. You will guide complex facility operations, enforce policies, and supervise staff across multiple teams.

The role partners with the Attending Veterinarian, manages budgets, and develops long-term capital plans while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in the relevant field, including 2+ years of managerial experience.
• Equivalents with training/experience that show comparable knowledge and abilities are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and reviews vivarium operations for KE and KE Core Research Facilities.
• Collaborates with Attending Veterinarian on animal husbandry policies and procedures.
• Supervises managers and team leads to ensure high performance.
• Executes long- and short-term goals with governance board and KE leadership.
• Assesses user needs and budgets to optimize service and develop new capabilities.
• Reports on fiscal and operational performance to supervisor and governance board.
• Manages operating budgets, staffing, and capital equipment investments.
• Develops plans for equipment and systems maintenance and replacement.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and university policies.
• Responds to audits of recharge centers and implements improvements.
