Job summary

MSD is seeking a Senior Director, Clinical Science, Vaccines in Rahway, NJ to provide strategic leadership across multiple studies and assets. The role shapes disease area strategy, standardizes practices, and guides study design with deep vaccine expertise.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence governance discussions, and contribute to development planning while mentoring Clinical Scientists in a matrix environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Clinical Development, Clinical Science, or related function.
• Leadership across multiple studies, programs, or assets.
• Excellent communication, influence, and executive presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic Clinical Science leadership across the disease area and assets.
• Lead standardization of Clinical Science approaches and governance across programs.
• Provide senior scientific guidance on protocol development, study design, and endpoint selection.
• Support portfolio governance discussions with cross-functional leadership and data interpretation.
• Lead/direct management for Directors and Scientists, coaching and development.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, and Medical Affairs.
