Job summary

Jobot in Virginia Beach, VA seeks an accomplished Director of Corporate Tax to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the U.S. tax strategy and compliance programs.

This high-impact position will serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, executive leadership, business-unit leaders, and international stakeholders. The Director will oversee federal, state, local, and indirect taxes while identifying opportunities to reduce risk, improve processes, and optimize the organization’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 12+ years of progressive tax experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in a broad corporate tax function.
• Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Experience with corporate income tax, planning, audits, and indirect taxes.
• Ability to advise executive leadership on complex tax matters.
• SOX and internal-control experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive U.S. tax policies and strategies.
• Ensure compliance with the Internal Revenue Code and state/local tax laws.
• Direct preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Identify tax-planning opportunities and savings initiatives.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and assess business impact.
• Oversee indirect tax matters (sales/use tax, real estate tax, etc.).
• Provide strategic tax guidance to CFO and leadership teams.
• Lead and mentor corporate tax personnel.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors.
• Strengthen tax governance, controls, and risk management.
• Partner with finance and legal leadership on tax considerations.
