Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen Inc seeks a Director of Construction Inspection to lead and expand our Michigan operations in Detroit. This role oversees transportation construction projects for public and private clients, driving high-quality delivery, client relationships, and growth across the region.

The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, 10+ years in MDOT/highway projects, and proven leadership to mentor teams and manage complex inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• PE license in Michigan preferred; ability to obtain Michigan PE registration strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of MDOT or heavy highway/bridge construction experience, including leadership roles.
• Proven business development and client relationship management skills.
• Excellent leadership, team-building, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify prospective clients and business opportunities within MDOT, local agencies, counties, municipalities, and transportation authorities throughout Michigan.
• Lead and support business development efforts, including client outreach and strategic growth initiatives.
• Prepare Statements of Qualifications, RFPs, and other marketing pursuits.
• Recruit, develop, and manage teams of inspectors, engineers, and project managers.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with clients, contractors, and teaming partners.
• Direct multiple highway, bridge, and transportation projects simultaneously.
