Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Supply Chain Risk & Compliance is responsible for developing and leading the organization’s supply chain compliance strategy, ensuring that all third parties performing work for the company meet regulatory, financial, and operational compliance requirements. This leader will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners to establish global supplier compliance standards, oversee supplier credentialing and onboarding, drive continuous improvements to mitigate risk, and ensure regulatory adherence.

This role requires a strategic mindset, operational expertise, and the ability to influence across business functions and regions. The Senior Director will lead the development and execution of policies, systems, and controls to ensure the organization’s suppliers meet compliance requirements in all regions where the company operates. They will be responsible for reporting to leadership and championing global supply chain compliance strategy.

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:

Supplier Compliance Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and implement a global supplier compliance strategy that aligns with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and the organization’s business objectives.

  • Establish and maintain supplier credentialing and onboarding standards, ensuring consistency across all regions.

  • Provide oversight for the development and enhancement of the organization’s supplier compliance program, ensuring it remains adaptable to evolving regulatory landscapes.

  • Monitor and interpret changes in compliance regulations (e.g., FCPA, GDPR, ESG, AML) and proactively implement necessary updates to policies and procedures.

  • Partner with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Risk Management teams to enforce compliance controls across supplier engagements.

  • Develop and refine supplier risk assessment frameworks, including due diligence, ongoing monitoring, and compliance audits.

Operational Leadership & Process Optimization

  • Oversee supplier onboarding and verification processes, ensuring all third parties meet ethical, legal, and financial requirements before engagement.

  • Lead initiatives to enhance supplier risk mitigation, integrating compliance into sourcing and procurement workflows.

  • Collaborate with IT and external technology providers to ensure effective integration of compliance solutions, including third-party platforms for credentialing and risk assessment.

  • Define and oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to measure compliance program effectiveness.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and implementing best practices to optimize supplier compliance operations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Serve as the primary compliance liaison between the organization and external stakeholders, including suppliers, industry groups, and regulatory bodies.

  • Develop and execute training and communication programs to educate internal teams and suppliers on compliance expectations and responsibilities.

  • Lead investigations and enforcement actions related to supplier non-compliance, ensuring appropriate corrective actions and remediation plans are implemented.

  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on program effectiveness, risk exposure, and compliance trends.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in supplier compliance, procurement, risk management, or a related function.

  • Proven track record of developing and managing global supplier compliance programs in a large, complex organization.

  • Experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, or technology) is highly desirable.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior executives.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep expertise in supplier compliance frameworks, third-party risk management, and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong understanding of global supply chain regulations and compliance risks.

  • Experience leveraging compliance tools, ERP systems, and data analytics for monitoring and reporting.

  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across global teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex compliance challenges.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to engage with internal teams and external suppliers.
