Job summary

BETA Technologies in Vermont seeks a Director of Supplier Quality to lead the Supplier Quality Field Operations and Internal Operations teams, aligning supplier quality with program goals and production certification efforts.

You will own the SCAR program, drive NCRs to closure, maintain supplier scorecards, and partner with Procurement to manage supplier risk while ensuring AS9100D compliance and FAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 12+ years of supplier quality experience in aerospace or high-reliability aviation manufacturing.
• 3–5 years in a management role leading a multi-person supplier quality team.
• Deep knowledge of AS9100D with FAA 14 CFR Part 21 requirements.
• AS9102 First Article Inspection expertise across multi-commodity supplier base.
• Strong SCAR program experience with RCCA submissions and trend data.
• Experience managing managers and aligning two teams to a shared strategy.
• Supplier-facing executive presence and escalation management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Supply Chain Quality organization across Field Operations and Internal Operations, setting direction and integrating two functions into a unified program.
• Own supplier performance management via scorecards (OTD, receiving reject rate, NCR/SCAR metrics) and drive improvements.
• Own the SCAR program end-to-end, evaluate RCCA submissions, and present performance at leadership reviews.
• Govern the receiving inspection function, ensuring integration with production scheduling and nonconformance systems.
• Own the supplier nonconformance lifecycle from NCR aging to SCAR closure and supplier return.
• Support AS9100D compliance and FAA production certification standards across externally provided processes.
• Interface with FAA CMS/ACO on supplier quality requirements within TC/PC programs.
• Own FAI acceptance standards per AS9102 and build SQE competency in FAI execution.
• Drive integration of supplier quality data into real-time quality intelligence for leadership.
• Maintain and evolve the Supplier Quality Requirements Handbook and procedures.
• Represent Supplier Quality in cross-functional planning with Procurement on supplier risk.
• Develop the Supplier Quality team with career development and training standards.
