Life at Axon is fast‑paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

As Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing, you will lead the strategy, partnerships, and execution needed to build a resilient, high‑performing global supply base for Axon’s growing hardware portfolio. Reporting to the EVP, Operations, you will play a critical role in enabling scale, improving cost and supply continuity, and ensuring sourcing decisions support product innovation and operational excellence. This is a high‑impact opportunity for a leader who thrives in complex environments and wants to help shape how Axon grows.

What You’ll Do
Sourcing Strategy & Execution
  • Set and execute the overall strategic sourcing strategy across all commodity groups, aligning sourcing decisions to corporate objectives, product roadmaps, and cost targets
  • Develop, maintain, and present commodity and category strategies on a quarterly cadence, expanding coverage as new capabilities are introduced, including robotics, radar, long‑range optics, and trailers
  • Lead RFx processes, competitive bidding, and should‑cost analysis in partnership with R&D to establish procurement target costs throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Drive annual net cost savings programs and deliver meaningful realized savings through negotiation, specification optimization, and supply base rationalization
Contract Manufacturer & Supplier Governance
  • Establish and lead a CM Steering Committee to govern performance, capacity, and strategic alignment across key partners
  • Own Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic suppliers, including agenda development, KPI review, executive facilitation, and action tracking
  • Negotiate and execute complex supply agreements, MSAs, and SOWs with global contract manufacturers and critical component suppliers
  • Develop and deploy a robust supplier identification, onboarding, and oversight process applicable across supplier tiers
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Lead geopolitical supply chain risk programs, including China and Taiwan de‑risking, UEL compliance, tariff mitigation, and alternate source qualification
  • Own the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) discipline, ensuring practical risk mitigation strategies such as multi‑sourcing, safety stock, and advanced replenishment are aligned to commodity strategies
  • Drive counterfeit identification and mitigation programs in partnership with Quality
  • Maintain ESG governance, staying ahead of emerging regulations and translating requirements into actionable supplier compliance programs
  • Manage supplier payment terms strategy, shifting the portfolio toward favorable commercial terms
Cross‑Functional Leadership & Executive Communication
  • Prepare and present sourcing content for Monthly Business Reviews, Global Operations Reviews, and Board‑level Enterprise Risk & Compliance presentations
  • Serve as the senior Operations signatory for APL phase exit and OK2 reviews, ensuring rigorous sourcing diligence before product launch
  • Partner with Federal leadership to ensure U.S. government‑related procurement requirements are met
  • Support Small Disadvantaged Business planning and annual quality management and certification reviews
Team Leadership & Development
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing sourcing organization capable of scaling with Axon’s portfolio growth and global manufacturing expansion
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities across Supply Chain Program Managers and Commodity Managers
  • Recruit, develop, and retain strong talent through succession planning, leadership development, and early‑career programs
What You Bring
  • 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain leadership experience, including significant experience in senior‑level roles
  • Proven success developing sourcing strategies and delivering measurable cost savings through negotiations, supply base optimization, and total cost improvements
  • Deep experience managing supplier and contract manufacturer relationships in complex hardware, electromechanical, or similarly regulated environments
  • Strong commercial acumen, including contract negotiation, payment terms strategy, and supplier performance management
  • Experience leading RFx processes, competitive bidding, should‑cost analysis, and sourcing support across the product development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate supply chain risk, including geopolitical exposure, sole‑source dependencies, tariff impacts, and capacity constraints
  • Ability to influence cross‑functional and executive stakeholders and communicate clearly in both operational and strategic settings
  • Experience preparing and presenting business updates, risk assessments, and sourcing recommendations to senior leadership
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience building, developing, and retaining high‑performing teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus
  • Familiarity with sourcing systems, analytics tools, and ERP environments; experience with D365 or similar platforms is a plus
  • Comfortable working across data, systems, and emerging AI‑enabled tools
