Job summary

Dow Jones Energy is hiring an Associate Director - Strategic Insights in Houston to lead a small team of analysts in producing long-term petrochemical market forecasts and related publications.

You will collaborate with chemical product experts worldwide to deliver advanced analytics, scenario work, and new commercial products, reporting to the VP of Business Operations. Strong Excel, VBA, Python, and Power BI skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' petrochemical industry experience, including market intelligence and/or strategic planning.
• Ability to identify and articulate core issues within complex problems and deliver insights and solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA scripting); Python knowledge and Power BI experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical understanding of the chemical industry to support long‑term supply/demand forecast updates.
• Translate forecast shifts into commercial insights for top chemical producers.
• Manage data and content updates with global product experts and publication analyst team.
• Ensure timely delivery of commercial products to clients.
• Serve as a technical liaison for clients subscribing to long‑term chemical market publications and data analytics services.
• Assist with development of new commercial products and enhancements of existing products.
• Contribute to related publications and consulting projects.
• Stay abreast of global market and technology developments in the product area.
• Manage a small team of analysts performing similar functions.
