Job summary

Capital One seeks a Senior Director, Senior Staff Engineer to lead the Customer Management engineering organization, guiding the technical agenda for foundational platforms and horizontal thread teams (SRE, Sustained Engineering, Data, Operations).

You’ll manage 100+ engineers, mentor senior leaders, and drive real-time, intelligent credit decisioning and offers using novel data sources and predictive models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 9+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture.
• 9+ years of experience in enterprise architecture and design patterns.
• 9+ years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript and SPA frameworks.

• Partner with product management to set an ambitious roadmap for expanding Capital One’s reach.
• Hands-on full-stack coding (frontend, backend, data processing, automation).
• Lead the multi-year strategy to decommission legacy systems and converge the destination stack.
• Stand up and scale a hybrid SRE + Engineering Productivity function across Acquisitions engineering.
• Design solutions enabling non-technical contributors to design, test, and deliver experiments and offers.
