Job summary

OpenAI seeks a senior leader to head Sourcing Enablement & Delivery, building teams, systems, and cross-functional partnerships to scale sourcing and contracting. You will shape priorities, manage Delivery and Contract Management leaders, and collaborate with GTM, Sales, and Partnerships to drive OpenAI’s commercial growth.

The role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid work model (3 days in the office) and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or commercial leadership.
• Proven ability to build or transform a procurement capability through rapid growth or change.
• Experience managing managers and developing strong teams through hiring, coaching and succession planning.
• Experience working with marketing, sales, product, customer success and partnerships to drive commercial outcomes.
• Knowledge of AI adoption, automation, and enterprise technology to enable procurement.
• Ability to lead in ambiguous environments and drive adoption of AI-enabled procurement capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the organization; hire and develop managers and coaches for performance.
• Own sourcing enablement and delivery operations with defined service commitments and quality.
• Lead the sourcing operating rhythm and align demand, capacity, and priorities.
• Strengthen contracting in partnership with Legal and Procurement Operations.
• Define RACI and escalation paths within Procurement and partner teams.
• Create mechanisms to bring sourcing into decisions earlier with cross-functional visibility.
• Build AI-enabled ways of working and prove business outcomes for sourcing and contracting.
• Define Procurement’s commercial‑enablement approach with GTM, Partnerships, Legal, and Compliance.
