Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Senior Director of Scientific Data Preparedness to lead initiatives strengthening foundations for reusable scientific data across workflows. The role partners with Architecture4Insight and engages Lilly's science and technology organizations to ensure data is AI-ready and well-integrated with the enterprise data landscape.

The leader will balance hands-on technical engagement with strategic oversight, building and guiding teams to drive data harmonization, metadata standards,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading complex scientific data, information management, data integration, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Hands-on experience applying ontologies, metadata standards, and data governance policies to ensure data trust and interoperability.
• Proven ability to deliver AI-ready scientific data products and build high-performing technical teams.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, develop, and coach the team responsible for Scientific Data Preparedness.
• Establish capability roadmaps, investment priorities, and operating mechanisms.
• Partner with data architecture and platform teams to enable interoperable data ecosystems.
• Define end-to-end information flow models across processes, systems, and data products.
• Shape enterprise integration and stewardship for discovery data assets.
