A global apparel group is seeking a commercially driven Senior Director of Sales to lead business development across its denim division, based in New York.

This is a high-impact sales leadership role for a results-oriented executive with experience in the denim industry and strong relationships with department stores, off-price, and big-box retail.

The successful candidate will define growth strategies, lead a high-performing sales team, and manage top-tier retail partnerships to drive long-term revenue and market share.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development: Develop and execute growth strategies for the denim category, identifying new opportunities and unlocking untapped accounts.
  • Key Account Management: Manage and grow strategic relationships with department stores and major retail partners, conducting regular business reviews and maximizing sales performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, merchandising, and production teams to align commercial goals with product and operational plans.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor consumer trends, pricing dynamics, and competitor activity to inform sales strategy and brand positioning.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and commercial excellence.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience within the denim, with a strong track record of revenue growth.
  • Deep experience managing department store accounts and working across a variety of retail channels, including off-price and big-box.
  • Strong network of buyer and industry relationships within the denim category.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to lead teams, influence product decisions, and execute against commercial goals.
  • Skilled in data analysis, forecasting, and presenting business insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
