Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Director of Risk Management for the Austin State Hospital. The role focuses on developing and evaluating a comprehensive risk management program, ensuring compliance with federal/state laws and Joint Commission standards, and leading safety and emergency preparedness initiatives.

You will supervise staff, coordinate drills, and drive continuous improvement, reporting to the Safety Risk Management department.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of worker compensation and safety program management.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to risk management.

Responsibilities

• Develops and reviews facility policies and procedures for risk management and safety, ensuring compliance with laws and Joint Commission standards.
• Coordinates safety inspections and corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Directs, conducts, and reports on emergency drills and disaster preparedness.
