An established industry player is seeking a strategic leader for their Revenue Cycle team. This role involves driving optimal operations and performance within the healthcare landscape, focusing on mentorship and professional development. Contributes significantly to the Revenue Cycle initiatives of Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health System. Develops and participates in short-term tactics and long-range planning that result in optimal Revenue Cycle operations and performance. Takes an active enterprise and site-based leadership role with physician and executive leadership on proactive revenue cycle strategies and addressing daily Revenue Cycle operations, including customer relationship management, process, and project management. Functions as a mentor and facilitator of professional development opportunities to keep the team aligned with the changing healthcare landscape. Manages institutional and system-wide initiatives related to the revenue cycle, including personnel. Serves as the primary interface on all revenue cycle issues, including department oversight, CPR Liaison, technical and governmental issues, billing, and collection remediation. Interfaces with other finance departments like FAS, CPR, and Treasury. Responsible for advancing strategies and implementing strategic priorities, standardization, servicing stakeholders, and providing customer service and staffing support. Manages an operating budget, ensuring adherence to expense targets and plans. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and oversight bodies.
Authorization to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future is required (e.g., U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident). Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Bachelor's degree in business or related field and at least 10 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment, including 8 years in a major healthcare system or consulting firm. Preference for prior experience as a Director, Revenue Cycle. A Master's degree is strongly preferred. Healthcare management, operations, change management, and systems experience are desirable. Experience with operational efficiency improvements, care process standardization, and patient outcome activities is preferred. Strong quality improvement methodology skills. Ability to relate to and gain support from clinicians and administrators for operational improvements. Excellent facilitation, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with software like Excel and Word. HFMA Certification is preferred.
Experience in revenue cycle, especially around laboratory services, strategic mindset, and ability to build and optimize processes is preferred.
