Job summary

The role drives strategic messaging, executive communications and research storytelling, partnering with OVCR, UCM, and other university leaders to elevate Carolina’s research impact.

Qualifications

• Relevant advanced degree with three+ years of related professional experience; or a Bachelor's with five+ years in substitution.
• Experience leading communications and marketing for a large, complex organization.
• Ability to translate complex scientific concepts for broad audiences with clarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of the Office of Research Communications and ORC portfolio.
• Lead a high-performing team responsible for executive communications, storytelling and outreach.
• Develop and position senior leaders as effective public voices across multiple channels.
• Collaborate with OVCR leadership, University Communications, and external partners to advance research visibility.
