Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Senior Director, Transaction Counsel to support its credit origination and capital markets teams in structuring, negotiating, and closing complex CRE debt transactions.

You will advise on transaction risk, coordinate closings, and manage post-closing and leverage processes, collaborating with external counsel, asset management, and corporate teams to drive deals to completion.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience at a law firm or in-house with a lender, REIT or CRE investment firm focused on credit transactions.
• Intimate knowledge of CRE loan documentation with senior mortgages, construction loans, warehouse lines, B-notes, mezzanine and preferred equity structures.
• Law degree from an accredited law school and bar admission in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Advise origination teams on legal transaction risk during negotiations of term sheets and loan documents.
• Manage loan closing process, including title, surveys, environmental, zoning and organizational documents.
• Support post-closing and leverage process with assignment docs and credit facility compliance.
