Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Director of R&D Transformation & Operations to redefine global engineering and product processes within the Cloud Technology Group. You will lead transformation roadmaps, PDLC/SDLC practices, portfolio management, and PMO execution while guiding a diverse team of TPMs, Analysts, and Trainers.

You will drive change across large organizational populations, optimize engineering productivity metrics, and present progress to executives.

Qualifications

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Experience with enterprise engineering & product development frameworks and measurement systems (Lean Portfolio, SAFe, DORA, SDLC/PDLC).
Proven ability to drive change management across large employee populations.
Demonstrated program leadership across cross-functional teams, balancing strategic vision with technical detail.
Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority and broker compromises.

Responsibilities

Lead complex transformation programs and manage a team of Transformation-focused TPMs, Analysts, and Trainers.
Define transformation roadmaps and oversee PDLC/SDLC practices and portfolio management.
Monitor project health and Engineering Productivity Metrics; ensure data hygiene.
Present updates to senior executives and align on scope changes with sponsors.
Scale operations, refine methodologies, and promote inclusive, high-performing culture.
