Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering for the Platform IAM team within the Cloud Technology Group. You will scale a global engineering organization to deliver massive-scale, feature-rich IAM systems with low latency.

You will manage mentoring, drive the technical roadmap, oversee end-to-end SDLC, and translate business vision into concrete milestones while collaborating with other teams.

Qualifications

• 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or its equivalent.
• Extensive experience leading large, distributed software engineering teams with a track record of delivering innovative software products.
• Deep understanding of the IAM ecosystem.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of aligning remote, global teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing mentoring, and growing a large, multidisciplinary global team of managers, software engineers, and architects.
• Driving the technical roadmap for the IAM platform, ensuring the platform is highly scalable, resilient, and optimized for global, low-latency AuthZ.
• Overseeing the end-to-end software development lifecycle to ensure all code meets our high standards for quality, safety and performance.
• Partnering closely with other teams to translate business vision into concrete technical milestones.
