Job summary

Merck is seeking a Senior Director, Clinical Science for Pulmonary Hypertension and Cardiovascular disease to provide strategic leadership across multiple studies and assets. The role emphasizes standardizing scientific approaches and driving portfolio decisions with senior leadership input.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Clinical Development, Clinical Science, or related field within pharma/biotech.
• Proven leadership across multiple studies, programs, or assets in a matrix environment.
• Deep therapeutic area expertise in cardiovascular diseases and pulmonary hypertension.
• Strong understanding of trial design, data review, and regulatory considerations.
• Excellent communication, influence, and executive presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic Clinical Science leadership across disease area with multiple studies and assets.
• Lead standardization efforts for Clinical Science approaches and scientific governance.
• Guide development planning, endpoint selection, and biomarker strategy discussions.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to align activities with portfolio objectives.
• Mentor and develop Clinical Scientists within a matrix organization.
