Job summary

FORTNA seeks a Sr. Director, Project Management to lead a broad portfolio of large, client-facing projects across North America, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.

You will guide a senior delivery team, coach leaders, and partner with Sales, Engineering, Operations and Finance to align delivery with business goals, while upholding PMI standards and governance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in project management and delivery leadership.
• 5+ years leading a team of senior project leaders (Program Executives, Project Directors, PM Team Leads).
• PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials.
• Demonstrated success in managing large, complex project portfolios in client-facing environments.
• Strong command of PMI standards, project financials, and delivery governance.
• Executive-level leadership and team development.
• Strategic portfolio oversight and decision-making.
• Strong client relationship and negotiation skills.
• High resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep understanding of project controls and financial management.
• Collaborative approach to cross-functional leadership and problem-solving.
• Operational rigor with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of external client projects across North America.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget with quality and client satisfaction.
• Drive accountability and ownership across the project leadership team for scope, schedules, financials, and risk.
• Directly manage and support a team of senior delivery professionals and provide coaching and development.
• Ensure staffing and succession planning across the delivery function.
• Serve as executive contact for key clients; address escalations and maintain relationships.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to align delivery strategies with objectives.
• Partner with PMO to enforce governance, tools, and performance metrics.
• Support portfolio reporting, capacity planning, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor portfolio KPIs, negotiate contracts with Legal/Finance input, and manage risks.
