Job summary

Metro Associates seeks a Director of Land Development, a Civil Engineer with extensive private land development leadership experience. The role is onsite in Tucson with some remote flexibility, requiring an active PE license and a history of managing complex residential/commercial projects.

You will guide design, budgets, and schedules while expanding the Arizona market and mentoring engineering staff for growth and ownership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Active Arizona Professional Engineer license (PE) required.
• 15+ years of relevant land development management experience.
• Strong hands-on experience managing private land development projects.
• Onsite in Arizona with potential for one remote day per week.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and develop new business.

Responsibilities

• Lead Tucson Land Development Division and mentor the team.
• Serve as primary client contact and oversee project lifecycles.
• Provide guidance on design, scope, schedules, budgets, and progress.
• Promote technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
• Drive business development and maintain relationships with local developers and builders.
• Oversee strategic direction and resource planning for engineering teams.
