Metro Associates in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Associate Project Engineer to guide civil engineering and land development projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role combines project delivery, technical leadership, and close collaboration with clients and public agencies.

You will supervise design and staff, manage schedules and budgets, review constructability, and produce site plans and reports for commercial and residential projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• Arizona PE registration or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• Strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D proficiency required.

Associate Project Engineer – Tucson, AZ

Guide civil engineering and land development projects in Tucson as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role combines project delivery, technical leadership, and close collaboration with clients and public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering design and support staff, delegate tasks, mentor team members, and oversee quality control.
• Manage project schedules and budgets; assist with contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.
• Prepare preliminary studies addressing land use, zoning, site constraints, and regulatory considerations.
• Develop and process tract maps, subdivision documents, public improvement plans, and commercial and residential site plans.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering and Arizona PE registration, or ability to obtain Arizona licensure within six months of employment.
• At least six years of land development experience, or equivalent total industry experience of approximately 10–12 years.
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D proficiency.
• Strong independent judgment, communication, time management, and client/public-agency relationship skills. Arizona jurisdictional knowledge is strongly preferred.
