Job summary

MetLife Investment Management (MIM) seeks a seasoned leader for Corporate Private Placements. You will originate, underwrite, structure, and manage private credit investments across diverse sectors, leveraging senior relationships and a disciplined diligence approach.

The role demands 15+ years in corporate credit/private debt, strong leadership, and the ability to drive client-focused solutions while guiding a high-performing team through complex transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred.
• 15+ years in corporate credit, private placements, or related private debt investing.
• Deep underwriting with financial statement analysis and covenant review.
• Established senior relationships with issuers, sponsors, and market participants.
• Strong leadership, risk judgment, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Originate corporate private placement opportunities through senior relationships.
• Develop origination strategies across corporate sectors and client mandates.
• Lead screening, underwriting, structuring, pricing, and negotiation for opportunities.
• Provide investment recommendations with credit diligence and downside risk analysis.
• Oversee materials, approvals, and client-facing investment content.
• Coordinate transaction execution from mandate through closing.
• Mentor and develop investment professionals; promote risk-aware culture.
• Represent MIM with issuers, agents, and clients; support fundraising and relations.
• Monitor portfolio performance, covenants, and market developments.
• Apply AI tools to improve efficiency while ensuring compliance.
