The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, a solutions driven mindset, and deep familiarity with private credit markets, leveraged finance structures, and institutional investor expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management and Credit Oversight
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and private credit transactions, ensuring credit quality, covenant compliance, and ongoing risk monitoring.
  • Review financial performance, operational updates, liquidity metrics, and business trends for existing borrowers.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual credit reviews including internal rating assessments, early warning indicators, and downside scenario analyses.
  • Lead amendment processes, waivers, repricing events, and restructuring discussions as needed.
  • Prepare internal memoranda, monitoring reports, and risk presentations for senior leadership and credit committees.
Originations Support and Underwriting
  • Partner with originations and sector teams to evaluate new private credit opportunities.
  • Contribute to underwriting, structuring, diligence coordination, and internal approval processes for new financings.
  • Provide portfolio insights to inform leverage levels, covenant structures, pricing, and risk mitigants for new deals.
  • Participate in client meetings, diligence sessions, and relationship development where appropriate.
Syndications and Investor Engagement
  • Collaborate with the capital markets and syndications team on investor outreach, lender education, and positioning of transactions.
  • Support lender Q&A, credit discussions, management presentation preparation, and follow up communications.
  • Maintain working relationships with private credit funds, direct lenders, insurance companies, BDCs, CLO managers, and other institutional investors.
  • Track investor feedback and market trends to help shape future structures and portfolio strategy.
Structuring, Negotiations, and Execution
  • Negotiate amendments, covenant resets, waivers, collateral packages, intercreditor matters, and other credit documentation changes.
  • Partner with legal, risk, sector coverage, and internal operations teams to ensure seamless and accurate execution.
  • Support structuring efforts for complex or bespoke financing solutions involving unitranche, mezzanine, PIK, preferred equity, or hybrid capital elements.
  • Engage proactively with borrowers on performance, liquidity planning, and operational risk matters.
Market Intelligence and Strategic Contribution
  • Stay current on private credit market dynamics including pricing trends, leverage norms, covenant behavior, and sector specific risks.
  • Provide portfolio level insights to senior leadership to inform capital allocation, risk appetite, and product strategy.
  • Contribute to team development, process improvements, and junior banker mentorship within the portfolio management and credit organization.
Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting, financial analysis, and loan structuring for middle market and upper middle market borrowers.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of corporate loans or private credit exposures with demonstrated attention to credit quality and risk mitigation.
  • Familiarity with originations processes, syndications, investor engagement, and ongoing credit negotiations.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and client facing skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree or credit training preferred.
