Job summary

The Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI) seeks a Director/Senior Director of Project Management to build and run a comprehensive PMO aligned with our research goals. You will drive end‑to‑end project lifecycle management, coordinate multi‑source funding, and enable strategic portfolio decisions across scientific teams, finance, and business development.

Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. degree required.
• Minimum 7 years project management experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotech life sciences company
• Strong leadership and networking skills.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for project and governance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the IBRI project management system.
• Ensure projects progress according to plan with milestones and deliverables.
• Sustain and improve project management strategy, processes and tools.
• Coordinate between management, scientists, and finance on budgets and workplans.
• Collaborate with Finance, Project Management, Business Development, Philanthropy and other stakeholders.
• Act as point of contact with CROs/consultants, monitor performance and quality.
• Lead and manage the IBRI portfolio management system.
• Lead and manage the Project/Governance system with regular progress reports to executives.
• Deeply understand science and business behind project progression.
• Lead alignment discussions to optimize translational aspects of the portfolio.
• Ensure routine portfolio reporting to Executive Management.
• Lead the full project entry process from opportunity to governance review.
• Collaborate with scientific staff to align proposals with funding requirements.
• Partner with Finance and leadership to develop accurate plans and budgets.
• Ensure governance packages are complete and accurate.
