We’re seeking a strategic People Business Partner with a product mindset, deep workforce strategy experience, and strong data fluency to advise our senior leaders and shape the People agenda to accelerate organizational growth, agility, and performance. This role can be in New York, NY or Pittsburgh, PA and is Hybrid (4 Days per week).
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Operate as a strategic partner to executive-level leaders, co-creating workforce strategies that align with product roadmaps, business priorities, and long-term vision of the organization.
- Bring a product mindset to the People organization— iterate on people solutions based on user feedback, data, and evolving business needs; prioritize solutions that are scalable, user-centric, and outcome-driven.
- Lead the design and implementation of large-scale transformation initiatives, including org design, change management, and operating model evolution, to drive both operational efficiency and cultural change.
- Leverage workforce analytics to generate insights, guide talent decisions, and inform workforce planning at the enterprise and functional level.
- Build and lead a high-performing team that combines business acumen, analytical rigor, and people expertise to drive impactful outcomes.
- Translate complex organizational challenges into actionable plans, supported by robust data and business narratives.
- Develop a deep understanding of the bank’s operations, structure, and strategic objectives to effectively partner with business leaders, aligning their priorities with organizational goals and driving impactful people strategies.
- Partner cross-functionally with People Ops, Talent, L&D, and DEI to deliver integrated, forward-looking people programs.
- Influence C-level stakeholders with strategic insights and data-driven recommendations that improve team effectiveness, engagement, and execution.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience within people strategy, organizational development, or change management including 5+ years in a people leadership role, preferably within a platform/product organization.
- Experience leading workforce strategy, employee experience, product management, and transformation to solve talent challenges and deliver measurable business value.
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to see the bigger picture and strategize talent solutions to propel the business forward.
- Strong analytical and data storytelling skills; proficiency with analytic and HR system/tools (such as Excel, Tableau, Visier, or SQL, and HR system)
- Demonstrated ability to apply a product mindset— delivering scalable, adaptable, and user-centered solutions.
- Executive presence, sound judgment, and a strong sense of business and organizational dynamics.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in HR, Organizational Psychology, or Business preferred.

”BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $175,000 and $250,000 peryearat the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
