Senior Director, People Business Partner

The Senior Director, People Business Partner plays a crucial role in aligning business objectives with employee strategies in our communications Capability Area (CA) and across Real Chemistry. This CA has over 400 employees with a significant US presence and a growing global footprint. The role serves as a strategic consultant to business leadership and a thought partner within the HR team and to the Co-CPO. This role will build partnerships and collaborate across HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and other internal functions (finance, resource management, talent acquisition) to deliver value-added services that support organizational goals. The role will manage one direct report and work closely with the global HR team.

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs. East Coast preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Partnership : Provide input on workforce planning, talent management, and organizational design. Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business goals. Attend leadership meetings and represent the People function. Leverage our CoE model and internal experts to support the people strategy.
  • Employee Relations & Retention : Address employee relations issues, conduct investigations, ensure policy compliance, and develop retention strategies. Foster a positive organizational culture and enhance employee engagement.
  • Talent Management : Conduct talent assessments, facilitate talent reviews, implement succession planning, and develop personalized development plans for key talent. Collaborate with L&D to support training and development programs.
  • Performance Management : Guide managers on performance processes, set objectives, conduct appraisals, and implement improvement plans.
  • Change Management : Lead organizational change initiatives, develop strategies to manage the human side of change, and ensure employee engagement during transitions.
  • HR Insights and Technology : Use HR metrics and analytics, including AI-driven tools, to inform decision-making and improve HR processes and employee experience.
  • Compensation and Benefits : Collaborate on compensation strategies with the Total Rewards CoE to ensure competitiveness and fairness.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience as a Senior HR Business Partner or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and regulations.
  • Experience supporting client groups in the UK and Europe is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach.

Pay Range : $175,000 - $190,000

This range reflects the current market and may be adjusted. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and location.
