Job summary

Israel Policy Forum is seeking a Director of Operations in New York, NY to lead budgeting, financial coordination, and broad operations. The role partners with the COO and manages vendor relationships, audits, and systems improvements while balancing hands‑on administration with strategic oversight.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in nonprofit operations, strong Excel/Google Sheets, and experience with QuickBooks Online; hybrid work from NY/DC offices is typical.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible nonprofit operations experience with budgeting and audit coordination.
• Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for multiple programs and grants.
• Strong organizational skills, cross‑functional collaboration, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting process with COO and department leaders, forecast, and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, invoicing, and month‑end/year‑end reporting with external bookkeepers.
• Improve finance and operations workflows, templates, and documentation.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, renewals, and operational deadlines.
• Own special projects and administrative initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.
