Job description

The Senior Director of Oncology Product Management and Strategy leads a team of high-performing product managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership to develop strong future leaders in the organization. This person is responsible for driving the strategy of the overall oncology portfolio, which encompasses both the flagship and core oncology test portfolio of products and services to address key client needs across the diagnostics and biopharma segments. This leader will ensure delivery of a differentiated and competitive product mix that aligns with evolving market trends and provides the optimal client experience to drive the achievement of key business objectives, both short- and long-term, driving adoption and promoting retention to ensure ongoing market penetration.

This role reports to the Executive Director, Head of Oncology Product and Marketing and serves as a key member of the Oncology Marketing Leadership Team. It is a strategic partnership with the Science, Medical Affairs, and Market Access teams. The role requires collaboration across internal functions including Commercial, and engagement with clients across providers, hospitals & health systems, and biopharma.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Lead a team of product managers in executing the portfolio strategy.
  2. Develop, plan, and execute multi-year product strategies based on customer insights and market dynamics to ensure innovative tests and services meet client needs and support business objectives.
  3. Manage lifecycle strategy and product ownership within the oncology portfolio from initiation to sunset across various uses.
  4. Develop comprehensive business cases using standard marketing practices to secure investments.
  5. Partner with science, medical affairs, and market access teams to define and execute product strategies for long-term growth.
  6. Represent the voice of customers in the Product Lifecycle Committee, providing insights to guide decisions.
  7. Develop and implement strategies to promote successful market adoption.
  8. Track product performance, provide forecasts, develop business models, and recommend actions to senior leadership.
  9. Collaborate with stakeholders on go-to-market strategies, including Product Marketing, Customer Marketing, Commercial Strategy, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Laboratory Operations.
  10. Build relationships with customers, thought leaders, trade associations, and industry players to develop KOL strategies and collaborations.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
  • B.S. Degree; preferred fields: Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or related.
  • 15+ years in diagnostics/biotech/pharma industry.
  • 10+ years leading product management or related teams.
  • Experience managing oncology and regulated products.
  • Proven ability to develop compelling product strategies and successful launches.
  • Expertise in solutions for oncology testing and deep knowledge of provider and biopharma markets (US and ex-US).
  • Strong technical, business, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of sales processes in provider and biopharma segments.
  • Leadership experience in high-performance teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in molecular biology or related field.

Pay Range: $200,000 - $225,000 annually + bonus and equity eligibility.

LBP / Equity Eligible Positions: Eligible for annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives.
