Job summary

WeDriveU in Austin, TX seeks a Director of Risk Management to lead and continuously improve our enterprise risk and compliance program. This leader will oversee regulatory, contractual, and operational risks across transportation operations and translate requirements into actionable procedures.

You will collaborate with Operations, Safety, Maintenance, HR, Legal, and Finance to identify risks, strengthen controls, prepare for audits, and address concerns before they impact employees or service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, law, transportation, safety, risk management, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management, compliance, transportation, safety, or audit.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state transportation regulatory requirements and operational risk.
• Ability to travel regularly to company locations and client sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an enterprise compliance framework aligned with federal, state, local, contractual, and customer requirements.
• Provide leadership with clear reporting on compliance performance, risks, audits, and corrective actions.
• Lead or coordinate internal audits, customer reviews, and regulatory inspections.
• Implement practical policies, controls, and training to integrate compliance into day-to-day operations.
• Oversee regulatory compliance for transportation operations, driver qualification, and safety testing.
• Collaborate with leaders to remediate root causes and sustain improvements.
