Job summary

USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) seeks a Supervisory Senior Director to provide executive leadership and authoritative guidance on complex policy and program matters of critical importance. The role involves timely, high-visibility decision making and cross-agency coordination to advance agency priorities.

The incumbent will analyze problems, develop well-supported recommendations, and direct the formulation of operating policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires 1 year TIG at next lower grade (GS-14) or equivalent.
• Experience explaining findings to senior agency officials and defending recommendations.
• Ability to develop policies, programs, and related initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership on complex policy and program matters
• Guide senior FAS leadership on sensitive, high-visibility issues requiring cross-agency coordination
• Analyze time-sensitive problems and assess alternative actions and impacts
• Direct formulation and recommendation of operating policies and procedures
• Conduct research and fact-finding to support recommendations to senior officials, including the Deputy Administrator
