Job summary

Travelport seeks a Senior Director of Software Engineering to drive platform engineering, developer experience, and delivery excellence across multiple teams. You will lead internal developer platforms, automation, and tooling initiatives, aligning engineering investments with business goals.

You will champion modern practices such as DevSecOps, GitOps, IaC, and CI/CD while shaping governance, standards, and scalable patterns that reduce risk and boost velocity.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with leadership at scale.
• Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) and developer experience programs.
• Proven success leading large-scale engineering transformation initiatives and organizational change.
• Strong background in cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, DevOps, and platform engineering.
• Java and Spring Boot enterprise software development experience.
• Experience with deployment automation technologies like Argo CD, Argo Rollouts, or GitOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term vision for platform engineering, developer experience, engineering productivity, and software delivery excellence.
• Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for internal developer platforms, automation, tooling, and delivery enablement.
• Establish engineering standards, governance frameworks, and best practices to improve scalability, reliability, security, and delivery velocity.
• Partner with senior technology and business stakeholders to align engineering investments with strategic priorities and measurable business outcomes.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
• Lead the development of internal platforms and engineering capabilities that streamline software development, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Drive adoption of DevSecOps, GitOps, IaC, CI/CD automation, and platform engineering practices.
• Create reusable patterns and solutions that accelerate development while reducing complexity and risk.
• Establish scalable standards for release management, observability, testing automation, deployment practices, and service reliability.
• Champion developer productivity by improving tooling and workflows across teams.
