Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead and transform our technology landscape. You will oversee advanced end-to-end software engineering tasks, from design to health monitoring, across multiple applications and teams.

You will mentor engineers, guide release management and CI/CD practices, and partner with security teams to maintain velocity while ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience.
• 6 additional years of software engineering experience.
• Experience leading or coordinating release management across multiple streams in a large enterprise.

Responsibilities

• People Leadership – Manage HR for the team, including hiring, performance, career development, and inclusive culture.
• Lead a team of software engineers with technical guidance and mentorship.
• Direct design, development, configuration, testing, debugging, and implementation based on specifications.
• Lead investigation and resolution for critical issues and incidents.
• Identify opportunities where technology can improve business efficiency.
• Apply industry trends to formulate software engineering solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
