Job summary

Jagger is seeking a Senior Director / VP of Operations to own internal infrastructure, enabling a world-class technical team to scale from ~30 to 100+ without breaking. You will report to the CEO and serve as the operational right hand to the founding team.

You will build org infrastructure (HR, legal, IT, finance ops), own cadence (OKRs, KPIs), and partner with the CEO on strategic execution, board prep, and investor updates, while leading budgeting and headcount planning with the CFO.

Qualifications

• Built org infrastructure (HR, finance ops, legal, IT) from scratch at early/high-growth tech companies.
• Experience scaling teams through major funding events or hypergrowth phases.
• Operational leadership with P&L or budget ownership at senior levels.
• Direct collaboration with CEOs, CFOs, and boards in strategic execution.
• Self-starter who contributes a plan upfront rather than waiting for direction.
• Background in deep tech, AI, hardware, robotics, or complex engineering.

• Own financial and operational planning alongside the CFO: budgeting, headcount planning, and resource allocation.
• Build the hiring and onboarding engine to scale headcount rapidly post-raise.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across a deeply technical engineering organization.

We are partnered with a high-conviction deep tech company building at the frontier of AI infrastructure. This is the company's first dedicated senior Operations hire.

The Role

This is a company-wide operator seat, not a commercial ops, product ops, or engineering ops role. You will build and own the internal infrastructure that lets a world-class technical team scale from ~30 to 100+ without breaking. • Have a technical background or enough fluency to hold your own in a room full of ML researchers, hardware architects, and engineers
• Have scaled a company through a major funding event or hypergrowth phase
• Have operated at Director, VP, or COO level with full P&L or budget ownership
• Are a proactive self-starter; you show up with the map, not waiting to be handed one
• Come from a deep tech, AI, hardware, robotics, or complex engineering company
• Do not come from a management consulting background
