Job summary

We Are CASA’s Deputy Legal Director will join a national nonprofit protecting immigrant communities through litigation, advocacy, and direct legal services. In partnership with the Legal Director, you will lead a dynamic legal team, supervise attorneys, paralegals, and staff, and collaborate across departments to advance civil rights and immigrant protections.

Qualifications

• J.D. required with minimum 5 years legal experience (litigation preferred).
• Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Maryland preferred).
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor supervising attorneys, staff attorneys, pro bono attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants.
• Strategize and implement goals for impact litigation efforts.
• Lead cases independently or co-counsel with partners as needed.
• Cultivate relationships with external partners and litigation collaborators.
• Oversee social justice campaigns in coordination with Organizing and Advocacy departments.
