ZRG Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with PAI in the search for a Senior Director of Development.

PAI is seeking an accomplished fundraiser and seasoned development professional to translate this moment of urgency, visibility, and possibility into sustained philanthropic growth.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Senior Director of Development will lead the execution of PAI's fundraising strategy, with a particular focus on growing individual and major giving, strengthening institutional philanthropy; and building the systems and processes needed to support sustainable revenue growth. Working closely with external fundraising leadership and consultants, the Senior Director will translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, establish clear accountability, and ensure consistent progress toward PAI's philanthropic goals.

The Senior Director will be a hands‑on, results‑oriented fundraising leader who combines strong relationship‑building skills with the operational discipline to manage a growing donor pipeline, strengthen development operations, and lead a team of three Development staff. This leader will personally manage a portfolio of major donors and philanthropic partners, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding six‑ and seven‑figure gifts while expanding PAI's donor base. Equally important, the Senior Director will provide active, day‑to‑day leadership to a team of three Development staff, establishing clear priorities, providing coaching and direction, strengthening team performance, and building a culture of accountability and consistent execution.

This is an opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution to play a critical role in strengthening PAI's fundraising capacity, building on a strong foundation, and helping advance the organization's next chapter of growth and impact.

For more than 60 years, PAI has fought to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights around the world, grounded in a powerful belief: when women and girls have the freedom to make decisions about their bodies, health, and futures, they thrive; and when they thrive, families, communities, and nations prosper.

Based in Washington, D.C., PAI works at the intersection of advocacy, philanthropy, and locally led change. The organization engages policymakers in the United States and on the global stage to advance policies and investments that support sexual and reproductive health and rights, while providing flexible funding and strategic advocacy support to more than 120 community‑based organizations across more than 35 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. This combination of policy influence and investment in local leaders allows PAI to help drive change at multiple levels while ensuring that advocates closest to the issues have the resources and power to shape solutions in their own communities.

At the heart of this work is a simple conviction: her future is worth defending, and her freedom is worth fighting for. PAI is building the advocacy, partnerships, resources, and public support necessary to do exactly that—and creating new ways for people across the United States to join a global movement committed to reproductive freedom, health equity, and gender equality.

A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least seven years of progressively responsible fundraising and development experience, including demonstrated success managing fundraising programs and teams, is required.

PAI welcomes applications from people of all cultures, backgrounds and experiences. PAI actively cultivates an institutional culture that reflects the values of respect, equity and inclusion that it seeks to amplify in its work. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to PAI, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply.

The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $175,000, with an opportunity for performance-based bonus. PAI offers a comprehensive package of benefits that includes health, dental, and vision care, a direct contribution 403(b) retirement plan, and a flexible spending account.

PAI is committed to the inclusion of all qualified candidates. If you require reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, or participating in the selection process, please contact BJ Davis at bjdavis@aspenleadershipgroup.com
