Job summary

Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC is seeking a Director of Advisor Development to lead coaching, training, and accountability for Financial Advisors and Associate Financial Advisors. You will report to the Managing Partner and shape a comprehensive onboarding and ongoing education program while aligning outcomes with client experience and comprehensive financial planning.

The role requires extensive leadership, insurance experience, and the ability to travel to practice locations to drive

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of progressive financial-services experience, including advisor development or leadership.
• Minimum five years of demonstrated people leadership or coaching experience.
• Insurance experience and ability to coach protection strategies in a financial plan.
• Track record of developing early-career professionals and driving accountability.
• Strong facilitation, feedback, communication, and performance-management skills.
• Knowledge of advisor licensing and regulatory expectations; licenses are valuable but not mandatory.
• Willingness to travel as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for advisor development and drive progress against strategic measures.
• Conduct regular one-on-one and group coaching with advisors.
• Build and deliver onboarding and ongoing education for Associate Financial Advisors.
• Lead structured accountability sessions translating priorities into execution.
• Use data and SMART goals to identify gaps and create action plans.
• Develop and continuously improve a comprehensive advisor development program.
• Coordinate licensing, credentialing, and education activities with leadership and compliance.
• Provide quarterly progress reports on advisor performance vs. goals.
• Travel to practice locations for team development as needed.
