The Senior Director of Nursing oversees strategic planning, communication, organization, and implementation of nursing operations and goals aligned with the Medical Center's mission, vision, and strategic plan. Responsibilities include developing and implementing standards of care, promoting professional development, and ensuring quality and performance improvement in nursing care. The role involves analyzing and controlling divisional financial performance, supervising directors and managers across multiple units, and coordinating services from support departments that impact care delivery. The position also manages the shared governance structure within the nursing division, with scope over clinical, financial, and patient experience performance.

Qualifications

• New York State Registered Professional Nurse License and current registration.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field.
• Master of Science degree in Nursing or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years management experience.
• Cultural competencies and knowledge of clinical services (e.g., IP, ED, MCI, CC, Ambulatory).
• Professional knowledge in finance, budgeting, and planning.
• Leadership and personnel management skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to organize, direct, and evaluate patient care operations.
• Knowledge of balanced scorecard measures.
• Critical thinking and analytic skills.
• Computer literacy.
• American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification in Nursing Administration or Advanced Administration (desired).
